Leader of opposition, TR Zeliang had expressed pain over the demise of Liangmeijei Paul Rongmei, father of Sh. Mathew Rongmei, associate press secretary of Press Bureau, NPF Central who passed away on October 18 in Guwahati due to a cardiac arrest.
A condolence note from Zeliang stated that late Liangmeijei Paul Rongmei was born on July 15, 1937 served as catechist of Holycross Parish, Dimapur and was a pioneer of St. Francis of Assisi Church at Zeliangrong Village, Dimapur. The note further said that the departed was a founding member of Zeliangrong Village, Dimapur and during his lifetime had generously donated large tracts of land for formation of the present day Zeliangrong Village in Dimapur and also played an important role towards Catholic Evangelisation in Dimapur District. Zeliang said that his demise was a great loss to the Zeliangrong community and extended deepest condolences to the family and conveyed prayers for peace of the bereaved family members and all his near and dear ones, and for the departed soul to rest in peace.
