
Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) Administrative Headquarters of Chare under Tuensang district celebrated its Golden Jubilee (1968-2018) at the EAC office premises on November 20 with Muthingnyuba Sangtam, MLA for 52 Longkhim-Chare AC, gracing the function as special guest.
According to DIPR, Chare administrative post was set up in 1956 as an Area Bench Court. In 1960 it was upgraded to Area Superintendent.
Finally, in 1968 it was upgraded to a full-fledged Circle Officer. Thereafter, in 1975 old Chare town was shifted and established at the present location.
Addressing the program, Muthingnyuba congratulated ADC Longkhim, EAC Chare and the public for making the celebration a grand success.
He called upon the various departmental officers to rededicate themselves and efficiently work together to ensure transparency and development for the area.
He also asserted that the departments have to be committed to delivering services to the community. Sangtam also asked the DBs and GBs to cooperate with the local administration so that law and order could be maintained in the area.
In his welcome address, Kupeusing Meru, EAC Chare, said the celebration was a significant milestone in the history for the government and the public of Chare area.
Earlier, the special guest unveiled the jubilee monolith and souvenir, and BYE Choir presented a song. Special cultural dances was presented by Trongar, Chare and Kiding village dancing troupes.
A host of dignitaries from different civil societies, heads of offices from different departments, village council representatives, DBs, GBs, Church workers, tribal hoho representatives, student leaders, invitees and well wishers attended the celebration.
