Zunheboto Town GBs Association (ZTGBA) celebrated its 50 Years Jubilee on November 24, at Cultural Hall Zunheboto with advisor, School Education, K.T Sukhalu as the chief guest.

According to DIPR, the advisor said that everyone knows the responsibilities of a Gaon Bura (GB) — they are the agents of the government, they are the eyes and ears of the government. When the Britishers came, they appointed GB’s to assist in local administration, he stated. After towns were set up, the need for GBs came up and so the GBs became the mediator between the government and the public. He thanked the GBs of Zunheboto for assisting the administration in their work and the Sumi Hoho for successful conduct of the Ahuna & Mini Hornbill festival celebrations. Further, he requested land owners in Zunheboto town to be liberal in facilitating development for Zunheboto district.

The program was chaired by Shihoto Zhimomi, GB, welcome address was given by Nihovi Chophi, chairman ZTGBA.
