DC Kma orders eviction drive from Nov 28

The deputy commissioner (DC) Kohima Rajesh Soundararajan has ordered carrying out a joint eviction drive from November 28, 2018 in Kohima comprising of the district administration, police, KMC, PHED and power department. During the drive, the DC has ordered removal of building materials, firewood, pigsties, temporary urinals, off road vehicles, optical fiber cables/wires, water pipes and other eyesore structures in and around Kohima town. 

The order stated that other materials would be seized and vehicles would be towed away, adding that charges of towing would be borne by the owner and all seized materials to be bought back by the owners at the cost involved. The order also stated that all commercial buildings and shop owners in the town and along Dimapur-Kohima highway till Khuzama to paint and install light immediately.

In view of the above, the district administration has detailed the following officers for the eviction drive: I Changsang, EAC Sadar, Kohima; Renbithung EAC Arms Kohima; Daniel Angami EAC Revenue Kohima; Alemyapang Longchar SDO (C) Jakhama and Seyiekhrietuo Solo EAC Kezocha. 

All concerned departments have been directed to coordinate with the above officials and carry out the above mentioned activities accordingly from November 28, 2018.

The order has been issued in pursuance to earlier office order dated October 24, 2018 and after observing that despite several reminders, some companies/contractors/sub-contractors/residents were still not adhering to the directive issued earlier.
