
In view of the arrest of perpetrators involved in the November 20 shooting incident in Dimapur and tax demand from new building construction of Aoyim Baptist church, the Public Action Committee (PAC) of Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) Tuesday announced withdrawal of the proposed 12-hour complete bandh in Dimapur district scheduled to be held on November 30, 2018.
In a press release, PAC convenor Vekhosayi Nyekha and co-convenor K Ghokheto Chophy expressed appreciation to the Dimapur police for the timely arrest of the culprits. They claimed that the two arrested involved in shoot and tax demand were NSCN (I-M) and FGN cadres respectively.
Meanwhile, PAC has appealed to the judiciary to punish the perpetrators as per the law of the land and not to grant them bail.
The committee has also appealed to every citizen to stay alert and report to the police in case of any criminal activities in order to maintain peace harmony during this festive season in the district.
