
SDPDB Tseminyu held a pre-Christmas Celebration & Monthly Meeting at Rumesinyu village of Tseminyu Sub-division on December 8.
According to DIPR, R. Khing, advisor of Vet. & AH and Women Resources Development Department and SDPDB Chairman, attended the program. Leaders of the Planning Board discussion meeting and the pre Christmas programs were ADC Tseminyu, Nokchasashi, and EAC, Tsogin Rozy Sangtam respectively.
The meeting discussed agriculture farming, health care sector etc. as agendas. Concerning local agricultural productions, the R. Khing encouraged farmers to produce organic, and extended his appreciation to the department of Agriculture, to SDAO Tseminyu Viwheto Thorie in particular for providing one (13 HP) power tiller to Rumensinyu village.
The Advisor then formerly handed over the power tiller to chairman, Rumesinyu Village Council by gifting the engine starter key, and he encouraged the villagers the use the power tiller properly. At the same time, the advisor also appreciated the ADC and departmental officers for organising advent Christmas celebration program.
OSD to chief minister, Thapimo Semy, who also accompanied the advisor, also spoke on the occasion and reminded the departmental officials to continuously maintain cooperation in implementing programs and policies of the government for development. ADC Tseminyu, Nokchasashi Ao, on behalf of various departments, delivered Christmas greetings on the occasion. Christmas celebration hymns were also sung at the program.
Pastor Tseminyu Baptist Church, Athonlo Khing, shared from the Bible in which he mentioned how the John the Baptist prepared the way for Christ. He therefore called upon the people to celebrate Christmas in His holy name so that everyone will be blessed. Hyusinlo, Pastor Rumesinyu Baptist Church offered the invocation prayer. A special song was presented by women group, where Dr. Gwathonlo, VAS Tseminyu said the benediction prayer, followed by gifts exchanges and a Christmas feast.
MGM HSS: MGM Higher Secondary School (MGM HSS) celebrated Advent Christmas on December 15.
MHM HSS media cell, in a press release stated that the program was addressed by headmaster, Bishwajit Paul. In his speech he spoke about the meaning of celebrating Christmas, where he said it should be celebrated with prayers and with Christ in the heart.
The program continued with choir songs presented by students of standard 10, and higher secondary students followed by benediction and refreshments. Class 11 Science bagged the first prize in the carol singing competition. The prizes were sponsored by St. Thomas Mission Society.
LCK at OHA Merima: Lions Club of Kohima (LCK) organized an advent Christmas program at Old Age Home (OAH), Meriema, Kohima for the inmates and staff on December 16.
A press release from LCK secretary stated that, LCK president Aroba, while speaking at the program expressed happiness that members of the club could once again visit the inmates and staff in the home. He told them that “You are our old parents and happy that we get time to spend with you on such occasion”. Former LCK president Tali Jamir also shared his love and concern and spoke of the association of the club with the inmates over the years. LCK provided 25 blankets to inmates. There are 25 inmates and seven staff members at OHA Merima.
Pre-Christmas at Mon: DC Mon office celebrated pre-Christmas on December 15 at DC office Mon.
According to DIPR, during the programme, Christmas greetings was delivered by DC Mon Thavaseelan K. District chaplain, Tuishimla Konyak shared Christmas message and prayer.
Christmas carol competition was also organized which was won by Dobashis. The other competitors were ministerial staff, drivers and Elections/Planning/CAWD/NIC.
The programme was chaired by Chumlamo Humtsoe SDO (C). Minister Paiwang Konyak and advisor Bongkhao Konyak also attend the programme.
