No end to impasse, stir by DRDA staff completes 1 month

Functioning of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) office Kohima remain paralysed due to ongoing strike by its staff, which has entered one month without any positive response from the government. 
Altogether, 39 administrative regular state cadre employees of DRDA Kohima have abstained from performing office duty since February 6 in protest against non-payment of eight months pending salary.
Speaking to Nagaland Post, one of the agitating staff said that they would not call off their “total cease work” strike until their demand was fulfilled. He said the commissioner and secretary convened meeting on Tuesday, but failed to give any assurance. Therefore, he said the staff would continue with the protest.
DRDA Wokha suspends stir: Employees of DRDA Wokha including officers and other staff have called off their ‘pen-down strike’ with immediate effect after assurances from higher authorities. DRDA Wokha employees had been on a ‘pen-down strike’ since February 28, 2019.
