Merangkong Medemsanger Putu (village council), comprising of all eight clans has declared to citizens of Merangkong and all person(s), union(s) that it has unanimously resolved at the July 8 meeting in Merangkong village that it has “unconditionally revoked” the edict against those who were excommunicated/expelled or barred from entry into the village jurisdiction arising out of differences during the last state assembly elections 2018.
This was contained in a joint statement issued by Medemsanger Putu Secretary Noktisang and assistant secretary Takotoshi.
The Merangkong Medemsanger Putu also reiterated its desire that all citizens of Merangkong village “should live together, in unity, peace, harmony and with due respect and regard to all concerned.”
The Medemsanger Putu has therefore, cautioned that it will not hesitate to exercise its mandate as per the prevailing Ao customary law “to punish” any person(s) or organisation(s) going against the wishes of its declaration (unanimously adopted on July 8).
