The Footnote Channel was formally launched by Music Task Force (MTF) advisor Theja Meru at D’Café in the presence of MTF project director Dr. Hovithal Sothu and several other dignitaries.
Theja Meru speaking on the occasion stated that the MTF under the visionary leadership of chief minister Neiphiu Rio was vigorously working to frame a master plan and comprehensive strategy to promote and push the music industry forward in Nagaland.
He urged the music lovers to dream big and “work smart’ to excel in the field of music and to figure in the best of the best list.
Footnote Channel founder Morotsung Longchar (along with other three friends Artong, Oyimbong and Lima Imsong), said that he and his friends had always been passionate about music. He also said that they came up with the idea of having a channel where they can give a platform to Naga musicians to showcase their talents and give them a helping hand.
Longchar said that Footnote Channel aims to promote young fresh and upcoming artistes and showcase their talents for all the world to see. He said that they will provide artistes and musicians with free audio and video recording and will feature them in the channel and help them gain an audience. Longchar added that its bigger goal was to make music an industry here in Nagaland where musicians and artistes can sustain their livelihood through music. The team want to promote professionalism among musicians and encourage a culture wherein musicians start writing and recording their own original work, he said.
The footnote team truly believe that it is wise to invest in Naga talent and that Footnote Channel belongs to the whole of Nagaland and requested everyone to support them by subscribing, sharing, viewing and help them reach out with their content to as many people as possible.
