
All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) observed “Sumi Patriots Day” at Sumi Patriots Monolith, Zunheboto in commemoration of Sumis patriots, who undertook hardship and struggles till their last breath, sacrificing their precious life for the cause of the Naga freedom movement, on August 4.
DIPR reported that, “Sumi Patriots day” is observed every 4th of August on the death anniversary of late “General” Kaito Sukhai Sema, first commander-in-chief Naga Army and “world youngest general”.
All Sumi Students Union (SKK) while honoring thousands who have sacrificed their precious lives for the national cause called upon the Naga national movement groups to work in the true spirit for the cause of the Naga nation and not on selfish vested interest.
He also urged Government of India to resolve the long protracted Indo-Naga political issue at the earliest.
The programme was chaired by Lilly Chishi women co-ordinator All Sumi Students’ Union and short speech was delivered by Nihovi Chophi GB, president Zunheboto GBs Association.
Vikato Yeptho, convenor Alahuto Prayer Fellowship Zunheboto administered special prayer for the patriots who rendered selfless sacrifice for the Naga national movement.
