Thanksgiving Sunday for police personnel held in Kohima

A thanksgiving service under the banner “Police appreciation Sunday” was organised by the Police Union Baptist Church (PUBC) at Kohima in appreciation of the services rendered by the Nagaland Police. 

This observance was held in accordance with Nagaland Police Baptist Churches Association’s (NPBCA) resolution, to set aside one Sunday of the year specifically for the police personnel. 

DGP Nagaland, T. John Longkumer, while exhorting the members urged them to be the peacekeepers of the society, to be prayerful and remember God at all times. 

While stating that difficult situations were testing moments and that people with good character faces more challenges, Longkumer emphasised on the importance of having family time.  

Retired ADGP Nagaland M.V. Chakhesang, who was the speaker said that policemen were fulltime soldiers and that one ought to be prepared always. 

He maintained that in all his decades of service in the Nagaland Police, discipline was very foremost for police organisation and urged the members to cultivate it into their lives. 

Chakhesang also enlightened the congregation about the initial stage of the Nagaland Police establishment and how the Nagaland Police Church came into being. 

Earlier, programme was led by the Vesotsü Rhakho, pastor of PUBC who also offered special prayer for the police personnel.
