National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) Phek carried out awareness programme on the harmful effects of tobacco at Baptist School Pfutsero and Bishop Abraham Memorial School Phek on September 18 and September 24 respectively.
A press release from district media officer Phek, Kutolu Nakro stated that, Neiweh Lasuh social worker of district tobacco control cell reminded the students on the harmful effects of tobacco and advised them to keep away from these harmful substances.
Dr. Reyosalu Lase Vizo district nodal officer (NTCP) Phek highlighted on the harmful effects of tobacco which contains harmful chemicals and can cause cancer and dangerous to health.
Students from classes 6 to 10 attended the programme. Leaflets on the harmful effects of tobacco were handed out to the students.
