Petrol, diesel prices cut further

State-owned oil marketing companies decreased the prices of petrol and diesel were for the fifth consecutive day across all major cities on Monday. The price of petrol was cut by 10-12 paise while diesel was slashed by 19-20 paise bringing relief to the consumers.

In the national capital Delhi, after today’s price revision, the price of petrol was Rs 74.98 per litre and diesel Rs 68.26 per litre.
In Dimapur, petrol price dropped to Rs.72.83 per litre while diesel was retailing at Rs.65.94 per litre.
In the state capital, a litre of petrol and diesel stood at Rs.73.64 and Rs.66.58 respectively.
The retail prices of fuel are dependent on the international crude prices and the rupee-US dollar exchange rate as India imports almost 80 per cent of its crude requirements.
Domestic petrol and diesel prices are reviewed by oil marketing companies on a daily basis. Price revisions are implemented at the fuel stations with effect from 6 a.m.
