Public Forum (Tobu-Mopong) at a joint meeting held at Tobu on Monday reaffirmed their stand to boycott the Republic Day celebration on January 26, 2020 under Tobu sub-division over the delay of the state government in retaining Mopong EAC circle under ADC Tobu administration even after collecting all the views and comments from the stakeholders and verification report from the administrative officers.
In a press release, forum convenor W Longang Konyak and co-convenor Sangti Konyak stated that the joint meeting attended by more than 200 leaders from Mopong and Tobu areas demanded the state government to immediately retain Mopong EAC circle under Tobu ADC HQ with all the status quo under the same including RD block, Police station etc. on or before January 25, 2020.
Failure to meet their demand, the forum cautioned that the public would be compelled to boycott the Republic Day celebration on January 26, 2020 under Tobu ADC, Mopong EAC and SDO (C) Monyakashu.
