NISHTHA third phase concludes in Longleng, Dimapur

Valedictory function for the third phase of National Initiative for School Heads and Teachers Holistic Advancement (NISHTHA) was conducted by district education office (DEO) Longleng on March 14 at Bautung Government Higher Secondary School (BGHSS) stadium Longleng.

While exhorting the participants, B. Watisangla Aier, DEO Longleng thanked and appreciated the teachers of the district for their co-operation and support for grand success of the training. She also stressed on the need for the teachers to practice the methods which they have learned during the five-day training in their own respective schools. She asserted that the teachers should be able to pay the price of hard work as they were entrusted with the preliminary responsibilities of dealing with young lives.

Observer of the training, Kelhikha, asst. mission director, Samagra Shiksha Kohima, Nagaland, briefed the teachers on the steps being taken up by the government to provide quality education to the students through NISHTHA.  He lamented on the record made during the 1st, 2nd and 3rd phase of the training where the number of absentees during the training all over the state was recorded to 1,875 only. He therefore urged the teachers to be sincere, honest, humble and dedicate themselves and proud to be in the profession of teaching as it was a noble service. Others who spoke during the programme included R. Nyimshio Lotha, Sr. SDEO, Longleng.

Training experiences were delivered by Vanben, G/T, GHS, Nyengching and Nginaok, G/T, GHS, Yongnyah. During the programme teachers also enacted short plays on various topics such as “traffic rules”, “consumer rights”, “maths”, “science” and “confidence building”.

Earlier, programme was chaired by L. Chingdam Mukho, invocation prayer by Bachem Buchem, asso. pastor, Christian Education LTBC while vote of thanks was delivered by N. Henty Phom, asst. district coordinator, Samagra Longleng.

Dimapur: In Dimapur district, the third phase of NISHTHA training was held at Holy Cross Higher Secondary School (HCHSS) Dimapur on March 14. The fourth phase training for the same will start on March 16.
