On April 9, 2020, Republican members of the US House Committee on Oversight and Reforms launched a formal and scathing attack on the World Health Organization (WHO) in the form of issuing a letter accusing the premier international health institution of “helping Beijing disseminate propaganda, downplayed the extent of the disease, and possibly delayed ordering public health emergency” which is responsible for the wide-spread of the deadly Covid-19 not only in US but in the world. Whatever may be the influencing factor, the WHO now is forced to concede as one of its prominent officials Peter Embarek admits “the role of the market in Wuhan city as the possible source for the outbreak of novel Coronavirus” in dramatic reversal from its earlier stance of denial. By the time these Republican lawmakers could question the suspicious activities of WHO in handling this global pandemic by submitting itself to be part of China’s propaganda and directly addressing what is supposedly politically sensitive issue that will surely have enormous political ramification in international polity in the days to come and WHO concession, however, more than 15000 American and 50000 lives worldwide had been lost due to the deadly Covid-19.
The picture of the current crisis will be totally different, for better, but tragically this brigade of courageous conservative republicans along with the president, who are willing to act without the constraint of political correctness or compulsion of diplomacy for saving lives, were imposed heavy restriction by obstructionist Democrats, aided by the mainstream liberal media, of the US Congress, and prevent them from working out strategy to confront the impending crisis. Democrats refuses to pay serious attention to the numerous warnings of the health experts as early as January this year of the worst possible outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, and instead resort to dirty politics by bringing in an impeachment hoax in their quest to remove the most performing, most pro-life and most pro-religious freedom president in the history of United States. Precious time were lost during this period as the attention of the nation were drawn to this unnecessary impeachment politics of the Democrats, as the nation fails to heed to the looming crisis that is already on the way.
Recall that President Donald Trump by the end of January, at the time of the peak of impeachment politics, had formed a Coronavirus Task Force, and issued important directives including declaring coronavirus as a public health emergency, imposing travel restriction on China and banning entry of “foreign nationals who pose risk of transmitting the coronavirus”. This is in accordance to taking cognizance of the threat and severity of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country. The tragic responds of the Democrats was their unscrupulous accusation of the president calling him by their leaders, the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer among others, as “racist” and instead encourage citizens to visiting and frequenting Chinatown.
