Indian Speaker’s Forum (ISF) on June 4, appointed 25 year old K. Chumseli Sangtam from Kiphire as ISF Nagaland chapter state coordinator.
K. Chumseli Sangtam who has a line of past achievements was felicitated by minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, government of India, Kiren Rijiju for the best participation award at national declamation contest in New Delhi on January 25, 2020 and was also the winner of state declamation contest on November 12, 2019 in Kohima. The programmes were organized by NYKS ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs.
In an interview with Nagaland Post, K. Chumseli Sangtam said that his past accolades such as “best speaker” at various state and national level competitions, “best delegate” at Northeast India Model United Nation (NEIMUN) conference as well as his presidentship at Nagaland University Students Union (NUSU) as being one of the top presidential orators in a modern Indian state university enthused ISF thus appointing him as Nagaland state coordinator.
Chumseli Sangtam who is an agent for nation building, self-reliance and campaigner for clean election founded Educated Unemployed Bloc (EUB), Kiphire and had been working with unemployed youths. On March 17 Chumseli organized a clean election campaign at Kiphire.
Under his initiative, some youths have setup shops in Kiphire town and are likely to setup more post COVID-19. Chumseli who is the president of the bloc said that many educated youth were beginning to realise that government job alone would not suffice thus he founded the group to help them practice the art of self reliance.
Chumseli was brought up from Seyochung village of Kiphire district. He was supported by his parent and inspired by Dr. SC. Jamir. Chumseli will be taking part as resource person at prestigious conferences across the country.
