
All Kohima Indane Distributors Association (AKIDA) has called for an indefinite ban from July 13, in protest against miscreants’ criminal acts and threatening of lives and security of LPG workers.
A press release by AKIDA president, Kuolachalie Seyie and general secretary Tseibou Dzüichü, stated that, on July 4, around 11 p.m, two miscreants had reportedly attacked one LPG truck parked below Belho Gas Service godown, Kohima. The miscreants snatched away the mobile phones of the drivers after they could not meet with the amount demanded. One of the miscreant was later arrested by Kohima Police.
In another incident on July 9 at 1 a.m, three miscreants attacked one LPG truck below Belho Gas Service godown, and was demanded to produce UG tax receipt.
The release mentioned that when the driver was not able to produce the receipt, they were asked to pay Rs. 3000, which they were not able to pay. The drivers were then assaulted after which the miscreants seized their mobile phones and Rs. 200 from the drivers and pedalled towards Para Medical Colony, Kohima.
AKIDA condemning the act, called for all LPG showrooms and services to be closed indefinitely from July 13, in protest against the criminal act meted out on LPG workers.
