NSCN (I-M) has expressed grief over the untimely demise of late “maj” Matsamong Pechungri of Jacob Ramsan battalion, Laruri village under Pochury region on August 16.
A condolence note by NSCN (I-M) through its MIP stated that, late Pechungri had joined the Naga national service on May 7, 1987 and served the Naga nation with unwavering patriotism until his demise. MIP stated that the void created by his demise would be deeply felt and difficult to fill in.
NSCN (I-M) also said that for his selfless contribution to the Naga national cause, his name shall be recorded in the pages of the Naga history and his sacrifices for Naga nation will be cherished by all.
Meanwhile, office of Longvibu, Naga army bestowed upon him posthumously the rank of “lieutenant colonel” on the August 17 in recognition of his service to the Naga nation.
MIP further conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family members and friends and prayed the Almighty grant his soul eternal peace and rest.
