
Tuensang Town Baptist Pastor Union (TTBPU) comprising of 20 affiliated Baptist churches organised a street prayer at various junctions within the district on August 16.
In a release, general secretary, TTBPU, Khumjong Sangtam stated that the prayer event was organised mainly to pray for the well-being of the security forces, district administration, health care workers and other frontline workers who are on COVID-19 duty.
The prayer commenced early in the morning at Eshou gate and continued at various junctions which concluded at District Civil Hospital. TTBPU under the leadership of Abemo Humtsoe, president TTBPU also carried out various activities in connection to COVID-19.
So far, the union has organised prayer walk and street prayer within Tuensang town on various occasions and also visited quarantine centres for prayers and encouragement. Union in coordination with Chang Baptist Churches Association (CBLT) headed by executive secretary, Rev. Achu Chang and his colleagues also extended their service towards the returnees at quarantine centres from April to July.
Union thanked God for protection of church leaders and officials during their services to the people amid the pandemic and extended appreciation to all pastors of 20 churches as the full time workers, staff, deacons and believers for their services and contributions. Union further encouraged every believer to continually pray for district administration, health care workers, security forces, NGOs, etc. Altogether, 23 pastors from various churches attended the street prayer.
