Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur (TSUD) has extended support to the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) call for revoking COVID-19 cess on petrol and diesel. TSUD in a press release has appealed to the state government to understand the plight of its citizens and lift the hike at the earliest. While the state was the first to introduce COVID-19 cess, the TSUD stated that it has been five months since its inception and citizens were “reeling under economic hardships.” It also pointed out that, the steep hike in petrol and diesel prices has adversely affected common citizens. TSUD stated that it will stand with the genuine appeals of the citizens and DNSU.
