
Hindi Diwas was observed at Nagaland University (NU), Lumami and Dimapur by Inner Wheel Club on September 14 respectively.
NU Lumami: NU Lumami observed through online video conferencing at Lumami, organised by the Hindi Cell of the University.
A press release by NU Lumami PRO, Peter Ki stated that, prof. M.K. Sinha, in-charge, Hindi Cell hosted the inaugural programme. He expounded on the background and birth of Hindi Day as well as the significance of Hindi.
In his address, the vice-chancellor prof. Pardeshi Lal highlighted the purpose and importance of celebrating Hindi Diwas. Dr. Abemo, registrar also pointed out that language and culture play an important role in ensuring people-to-people connection and in making a strong nation. During the Hindi Fortnight 2020, the Hindi Cell will conduct different competitions through online mode among employees and students of NU as well as KV Lumami.
IWCD: Inner Wheel Club, Dimapur (IWCD) conducted an essay competition at Pranab Vidyapith Hr. Sec. School (PVHSS), Dimapur on September 14.
A press release by IWCD president, Sanjukta Bhattacharjee stated that, students of classes 7, 8 & 9 participated. Cash prizes and certificate of excellence to winners and certificate of participation were awarded to every participant. Senior Hindi teacher, Radheshyam was also honoured at the programme.
IWCD members encouraged students for their participation, while president Sanjukta Bhatracharjee spoke about IWCD and its works. IWCD secretary spoke on the importance of Hindi Diwas. Principal Manoj Bhattacharjee also encouraged the students to learn Rastra Bhasha with enthusiasm. IWCD project chairman Jyotsna Singh gave the vote of thanks.
