
Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav was launched on March 12, seventy-five weeks ahead of 75th Indian Independence Day, to commemorate 91 years of Dandi march.
NYK Zunheboto: Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Zunheboto organised a neighbourhood youth parliament in celebration on March 12, 2021 at Skk hall Zunheboto with NDPP Zunheboto Region president, Khehoshe H. Yepthomi as special guest and assistant teacher (history), Kaholi kinimi as resource person.
A press release by media affairs, NYK Zunheboto stated that while speaking at the programme, Khehoshe Yepthomi called on the youths to play proactive roles in building the nation and community development through cohesive efforts. He advised the youths to pursue quality education and emphasised on honing their skills.
Meanwhile, Kaholi kinimi spoke on India’s freedom struggle and the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi and Subash Chandra Bose. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by NYK Zunheboto member, Realito Muru. The programme was attended by NDPP officials of Zunheboto region, college students and youth from various sectors.
MCK: Modern College, Kohima (MCK) in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Kohima, Nagaland conducted neighbourhood youth parliament on March 12.
Speakers of the programme were director I/c NYKS Nagaland, John Makhabo who spoke on “role of youth in nation building” focusing especially on Swach Bharat, rain water harvesting, MUDRA scheme and make in India campaign.
Assistant professor, department of history, Senjano N Murry spoke on “Indian freedom struggle, life, journey, philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi and Subhash Chandra Bose”.
The programme was moderated by assistant professor Kaweu Kreo while introduction and welcome address was delivered by principal Dr. Vitsou Yano. Later, vote of thanks was delivered by assistant professor, department of economics, Viketouno Kire.
SSPN: To mark the event, Sainik School Punglwa, Nagaland (SSPN) organised an online symposium on “India’s independence is hard earned, we must preserve it” and an online creative writing competition on “our freedom struggle is a story of determination & perseverance” for students of VI to VIII standard and for IX to XI standard respectively on March 12.
Over 100 cadets took part in the online symposium and 63 cadets took part in the creative writing competition. The online symposium was organised at the school conference hall under the guidance of vice principal, Lt Col Leena Bajaj.
