Commemorating the celebration of 75 years of India’s Independence, department of economics, Modern College Kohima (MCK) organised a prepared speech competition on the topic, “Role of Youth in Nation Building” on March 26.
A press release by MCK informed that a short presentation on “Jawaharlal Nehru: Towards Independence” was presented by MCK assistant professor, S. Anthony.
The prepared speech competition was won by Chongboi Singson (B.A. 6th Sem.) while Tokiho Achumi (B.A. 4th Sem.) and Takanungba Pongen (B.Voc. 6th Sem.) finished as first and second runners-up respectively.
The competition was judged by principal, Dr. Vitsou Yano, assistant professor, Dr. Daili Kholia and assistant professor, Shahilo Khing. The event was sponsored by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan.
