GB Union Dimapur (GBUD) and Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF) have appealed to the department of Food & Civil Supplies (F&CS) to allow the priority house hold (PHH) scheme card holders to receive monthly rice quota for the family “without the usual electronic thump impression system”.
In a joint press release, GBUD president MY Ngullie and DUCCF president, Tsenthungo Nyamo said that the reason was due to the surge in COVID-19 positive cases in Dimapur which had become a serious concern.
The two bodies stated that this procedure would greatly ease and avoid huge crowd gathering thereby maintaining social distance.
They also requested the responsible department authority to include the GBs/chairmen of the colonies in the rice distribution for monitoring and better distribution system to the general public.
Further, Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation and GB Union Dimapur lauded the department for timely distribution of rice to the card holders and informed that it was ever ready to provide assistance to the department authority as and when required.
