Condolence messages on the demise of advisor Toshi Wungtung

Several organisations, political parties and individuals have mourned the demise of late Toshi Wungtung, advisor IPR, SCERT and village guards. Wungtung passed away on July 1 at a private hospital in New Delhi after a brief illness. He was laid to rest Saturday.

WSH: In a condolence message, Western Sumi Hoho has expressed heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of late Toshi Wungtung and described him as a dynamic and a spirited leader who had a vast knowledge in varied fields. WSH said his death was a great loss for not only the Yimchunger tribe and Eastern Nagas alone but to the whole Nagas and that the loss would be difficult to be filled. Further, WSH has conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed that God would grant them solace in this hour of grief.

GPRN/NSCN Yimchunger region: GPRN/NSCN Yimchunger region has expressed shock and deep sadness over the demise of late Toshi Wungtung. In a condolence message, the region said his demise was a great loss for the Nagas and ENPO particularly the Yimchunger tribe. The region has prayed that the Almighty God grant solace to the departed soul and give strength to the wife and family members.

NNC/GDRN (N/A): NNC/GDRN (N/A) president Kiumukam Yimchungru and the collective leadership have expressed deepest sorrow and grief at the sudden demise of Toshi  Wungtung. In a condolence message, NNC/GDRN (N/A) said late Toshi was a man of belief, faith, action and an inspiration and hope for his people and Eastern Nagas. In his untimely demise, NNC/GDRN (N/A) said the Nagas have lost a visionary and dynamic leader. Further, NNC/GDRN (N/A) has conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

NSCN (I-M) UT: NSCN (I-M) UT has expressed deepest pain at the sudden and untimely demise of late Toshi Wungtung. In a condolence message, NSCN (I-M) UT caretaker CAO, ST Kiutsa the death of such a noble soul, charismatic and dynamic leader shall forever be felt even in the days to come. The CAO said that his demise has caused irreparable loss and prayed for the departed to rest in peace with God.

ENGBU: Eastern Nagaland Gaon Bora Union expresses deep sadness over the demise of its great and tall leader Toshi Wungtung. ENGBU recalls its late leader as their ‘history book’ who had practically contributed and sacrificed his prime time serving his people, and all people who knew him greatly respected him. With his death the people of Eastern Nagaland has lost an outstanding personality and a prominent leader. The ENGBU shall always cherish the memory of his sincere dedication for his people. Further, it has conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed leader to rest in eternal peace.

KSU: Konyak Students Union has expressed deep sadness over the demise of late Toshi Wungtung. In a condolence message, KSU said late Toshi was a man with a vast knowledge, wisdom and a visionary leader who immensely contributed for the upliftment of the people of Eastern Naga. In his demise, KSU said ENPO in particular and Nagas in general have lost a great leader and that the huge vacuum could never be replaced. KSU said it shares the grief and pain of the bereaved family and prayed that the Almighty would grant solace to the departed.

NFHRCC: Fraternity of Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee has expressed profound anguish on the sudden demise of a promising young leader, Toshi Wuntung. In a condolence message, NFHRCC said Toshi was a dynamic, upright and visionary leader and that his death was not only a loss for the people of Yimchunger tribe and to the Eastern Naga people but also a great loss for the entire Nagas as well. Further, NFHRCC has expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and to all the Yimchunger people in general. It has prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

NDPP CYO: NDPP central youth organisation has expressed grief on learning of the passing away of Toshi Wungtung.

In a condolence note, NDPP CYO said that late Toshi was a passionate and humble leader who dedicated his entire life to serving the people in various capacities at multiple levels, most notably by holding various post in social organisations. While stating that his impassioned works for the Naga people as an elected member of NDPP would be cherished and that his stead would be difficult to replace, the NDPP central youth organisation offered its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and with the people of 58 Shamator-Chessore A/C during this hour of grief.

GBPT: Goan Bura (GBs) of Pungro Town have expressed profound anguish over the sudden demise of late Toshi Wungtung, a dedicated and farsighted leader,

In a condolence message, GBPT said late Toshi’s demise was not only a loss for the people of Yimchungru tribe and to the Eastern Nagas but was also a great loss for the entire Nagas and that his death has created a huge vacuum which would be difficult to fill. Further, GBPT has conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed the Almighty would grant solace and peace to the departed soul.

YSUD: Yimchungrü Students’ Union Dimapur while expressing sadness at the sudden demise of Toshi Wungtung said in his demise the people have lost a great visionary man. In a condolence message, YSUD said late Toshi’s contribution towards the upliftment of Naga community would be deeply cherished and remembered. The union has conveyed condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed that the Almighty God would grant them peace and comfort to bear the pain of loss.

ENNWU NSCN/GPRN: In a condolence message, Eastern Naga National Workers’ Union NSCN/GPRN said it was heart hardening to learn the demise of Toshi Wungtung, who was a man of great integrity and spoke person representing the Eastern Naga people’s voice in all front. ENNWU said Nagas in general and Eastern Nagas in particular have lost a great leader and that the void created by his untimely demise would be hard to fill in the days to come.

Further, ENNWU NSCN/GPRN has conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed that the Almighty God would grant eternal peace to the departed soul.

YUBKAA: Yimchungrü Union Borlengri Karbi Anglong Assam has expressed shock and sadness over the sudden demise of Toshi Wungtung. In a condolence message, YUBKAA said late Toshi was one of the most instrumental personalities with straightforward and positive attitude in every assigned works for the welfare of the society. YUBKAA has conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

YBA Pungro Unit: Yimchunger Berü Arih-ako Pungro unit has extended heartfelt sympathy at the unfortunate demise of late Toshi Wungtung. MSU: In a condolence message, Mimi Students’ Union has expressed deep sorrow and pain over the untimely demise of ToshiWungtung and said his service, dedication and commitment shall forever be cherished and remembered. MSU has conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty God bestow strength and solace to them and the departed soul to rest in peace.

ENWOD: Eastern Nagaland Women Organisation Dimapur unit has expressed extreme sadness over the death of Toshi Wungtung. In a condolence message, ENWOD said late Toshi had a great inspiration to uplift the down trodden condition of Eastern people and issues relating to the Eastern Naga people. ENWOD has conveyed deepest sympathies to the family members and prayed that Almighty God would give them peace at this time of grief.

R Tohanba: Former parliamentary secretary and advisor R Tohanba has expressed demise at the demise of late Toshi Wungtung. In a condolence message, Tohanba mentioned that late Wungtung was a gifted leader, a statesman, a guide and a thorough gentleman. Tohanba mentioned that with his passing, we have lost one of the tallest leaders of Eastern Nagas and Nagas in general. Tohanba further conveyed his heartfely condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

Rev Dr. VK Nuh: Rev Dr. VK Nuh has expressed sadness on learning the demise of Toshi Wungtung. In a condolence note, the reverend said that late Toshi was born as a patriotic son of the soil and was actively involved in Naga reconciliation. Stating that his contribution to the Naga community could not be forgotten, Rev VK said that the people had lost a great young leader whose valuable contribution could not be replaced. Further, he conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members.

MHSU: Mopong Hong Kong Students Union expressed deep sadness over the demise of Toshi Wungtung stating that his death had created a vacuum for eastern people in general and Yimchunger in particular. MHSU conveyed its deepest condolence to the bereaved family members.

SNUNS: Southern Nagas Union of Nagaland State said that it was an irreplaceable loss for the people of ENPO in particular and all the Nagas who have lost a well qualified, dynamic and a visionary leader. It also said that late Toshi’s demise was a great loss for the youth and student community as he had always advocated for the significance of these agencies in future building. The organisation conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family members.

FAN: Film Association Nagaland while offering its condolences on the demise of late Toshi Wuntung said that he was a guiding light for the film fraternity and that it would remain grateful for his leadership.

While stating that his passing had left a big vacuum for the organisation, FAN conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family members.
