
Chief medical officer, Tuensang, Dr. Lanu Chuba and medical team including nodal officer for COVID-19 Tuensang, Dr. John visited Shamator circle health centres on July 3.
During the tour, the team visited Shamator CHC and Wapher sub-center. The main objective of the tour was to monitor and supervise the institutions. The team also sensitised the staff of COVID vaccination drives and to encourage for COVID testing of the vulnerable section of the society.
DKCTF winds up: Diocese of Kohima COVID-19 Task Force (DKCTF) in a meeting on July 1, decided to wind up the task force since the first phase of the unlock had begun in the state. However, the meeting decided to continue with the social services as per need of the people, especially the services of prayer and counselling, medical assistance and charity services.
The task force was headed by Bishop of Kohima Dioceses, Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil and convened by director of Peace Channel and principal of NEISSR, Rev. Fr. C.P Anto with the support of the Catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN), Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM) and Nagaland Catholic Women Association (NCWA) along with the Priests and Religious in Nagaland.
Sensitisation programme under Sitimi EAC: Sensitisation programme on COVID-19 vaccination was conducted by land resources department, Kiphire along with medical team at Nikiye village and Thazuvi village under Sitimi, EAC HQ Kiphire on July 3. The team was led by DPO, LRD, Ahozhe Sama. The villagers were sensitised on importance of Covid vaccine in the fight against the pandemic.
Vaccination drive at Pungro village: Medical team led by Dr. Siku and Dr. K. Nakhro in presence of ADC Pungro, Abhinav Shivam carried out a sensitisation programme on July 3 at Pungro village, Kiphire.
It was followed by a vaccination session where a total of 103 beneficiaries were vaccinated during the drive. The team has also scheduled a program to cover Shorih ward in the later part of the day.
DC Kohima informs on vaccination: DC Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie has informed all concerned that COVID-19 vaccination would be opened for all irrespective of possession of ID proof for all eligible benefactors who are 18 years and above at UPHC Seikhazou and UPHC Potterlane w.e.f July 5, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Monday to Friday) for a period of three weeks or till further notice. DC has informed that registrations may be done on spot at the locations on the day of vaccination.
