
A training on Integrated Pest and Disease Management (IPM) was organised by the office of the Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer (SDAO) Naginimora, Mon on October 6 at Naginimora, Mon.
In a press release, SDAO Naginimora informed that special guest, ADC Naginimora, Vineet Kumar urged the farmers to adapt with the changing agro-climatic condition and integrate modern agricultural practices.
In his address, SDAO Naginimora, Lawrence stated that pests and diseases in agricultural crops are going to be the new frontline for farmers and agriculture department.
He also informed that a robust monitoring and reporting mechanism for pest and diseases would be set up in all villages under Naginimora sub-division, in view of the extensive crop damage in jhum paddy due to disease this year.
Training topics included identification of pest and beneficial insects in paddy, estimation of Economic Threshold Level (ETL) etc. and IPM kits and inputs, rodenticides and leaflets were also distributed to the farmers.
