Reacting to the press statement issued by the AH&VS deputy director Dr. Wopanthung Ezung cautioning public against quacks, which was published on October 16, 2021, the animal husbandry & veterinary services (AH&VS) department has clarified that it was not an official press release of the department, but only a personal view of the writer.
The department has cautioned its officers and establishments from issuing any unauthorized press release. According to a DIPR report, the department stated that veterinary doctors and the veterinary field assistants (VFAs) work in coordination as one machinery of the veterinary profession as per the laid down provisions under IVC Act 1984, under Clause (b) of Section 30, which was published in Nagaland Gazette, September 30, 2009, Part-1. In this regard, the department has appreciated the wisdom of the office bearers of the Nagaland Veterinary Field Assistants Association (NVFAA) for amicably resolving the confused matter with the department. “Hence, Status Quo be maintained in the functioning of various departmental activities,” the department stated.
