
A meeting of the administrative heads of departments (AHoDs) and heads of departments (HoDs) convened by state chief secretary J Alam was held in the secretariat conference hall, Kohima on Friday.
According to a DIPR report, chief secretary J Alam acknowledged the departments that had worked tirelessly and contributed immensely in bringing the COVID-19 pandemic under control in the state.
He added that with the situation finally improving, it was time to begin normalising the functioning of offices at full capacity and with it, also address the issue of attendance and punctuality in all the government departments.
He urged all the departments to come up with proper working system to check the attendance of all government employees and ensure that proper work timings were maintained.
Department of P&AR made a brief presentation on the working of PIMS and the recently introduced ePaybill system.
The meeting discussed the need to have weekly meetings where pre-selected departments would present reports of activities undertaken by respective departments and discuss important department related matters.
Several other agendas with regard to the upcoming international tourism mart and the hornbill festival were discussed during the meeting. Issues related to delayed pension of retired government servants and the need to bring reforms in the system were also discussed during the meeting.
