A three-day awareness campaign and field registration was organised by department of labour under Nagaland Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board (NBOCWWB) and Old Riphyim Village Gazetted Officers Forum (ORGOF) from October 13-15 at Old Riphyim Village, Wokha.
According to a DIPR report, at the meeting, NBOCWWB chairman, Dr. Kekhrie Yhome informed that government of Nagaland has recognised 1283 villages. He said, India being a welfare state, many schemes are being implemented for social security and benefits of the public. Dr. Yhome said NBOCWWB was actively involved in sensitising the people about the various benefits available for the builders and construction workers where beneficiaries are identified and guided in availing the benefits. He also urged and encouraged the workers to take up works in building and construction works as it has the potential to earn livelihood.
Delivering the keynote address, CEO, NBOCWWB, T. Chubayanger said that the dedication and cooperation from the workers, the range leaders and ORGOF made the scheme a reality.
Stating that digital and online facility has been made for easy registration making it convenient for the unregistered workers, he encouraged the unregistered workers to register themselves with complete documentation.
Senior PS to deputy chief minister of Nagaland, Hachio Patton also spoke during the programme. The three-day campaign and field registration recorded around 280 registrations/enrolments from Englan Range public consisting of eight villages.
