Mech Kachari Community Purana Bazar (MKCPB) celebrated its “6th Magh Utsav”, a post-harvest festival, on January 14 at Purana Bazar.
A press release by MKCPB informed that addressing the community, founder of YouthNet, Hekani Jakhalu highlighted the importance of preserving one’s identity through culture and habits while advisor of Mech Kachari Community, Deepak Kachari shared the significance of “Magh Utsav”.
The programme began with an invocation by Bhovo Mech, welcome address by MKCPB chairman, Uttam Sonowal; short speeches by Mech Kachari Central committee, president, Soneswar Mech and Mech Kachari Development Council Assam, executive member, Gautam Mech and vote of thanks by Harish Mech. Various cultural dances were performed by Mech Kachari Culture troupes of Purana Bazar.
