JDU 37 Tuyi files FIR over violence

Janata Dal (United) 37 Tuyi assembly constituency under Wokha district has alleged incidents of violence perpetrated on party supporters and urged the police to investigate the incitements and bring the perpetrators to book at the earliest.
According to the First Information Report (FIR) submitted to the officer in-charge police station Wokha, the JDU 37 Tyui assembly constituency president N Zumchio Lotha stated that following the burning down of a farmhouse at Koio village in the wee hours of February 10, 2023, two JDU supporters from Koio village were “arbitrarily” taken into custody on “unfounded case of suspicion”.
In the afternoon of February 10, 2023, the JDU unit president alleged that four individuals and “their cohorts” threatened and vandalized the residence of two JDU supporters at Koio village.
Further, he alleged in the evening, a JDU supporter was hospitalised after he was “grievously injured”.
JDU unit president maintained that the three incidents of violence have instilled fear psychosis amongst JDU supporters of 37 Tyui, which he said was “not only against the rule of law but also against the norm of democratic society”.
