Around eight houses were gutted in a fire at Purana Bazaar area on Sunday night around 9 p.m. When contacted, fire department officials said that eight houses were burnt down.
Though it was suspected to be an electrical short circuit, officials said that they were yet to ascertain the cause of the incident. No casualty was reported as the residents managed to get out of the houses. Around two fire tenders were pressed into service and brought the fire under control.
