Members of DPDB Wka inspects NH-61 project

District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) led by chairman and advisor of Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan accompanied by Mhonbemo Humtsoe MLA along with district administration, DPDB members, Lotha Hoho, Lotha Eloe Hoho, representatives of Joint Action Committee (JAC), Lotha Student’s Union and officials from National Highway, inspected the ongoing NH-61 (2) road construction project on February 21.


According to DIPR report, at the inspection, Yanthan thanked Lotha Hoho and all Civil Societies Organisations for taking the initiatives to complete the National Highway project as specified in the DPR. He further assured the Construction Company that the district administration as well as CSOs would extend all out support to complete the project on time.


Earlier, chairing the monthly DPDB meeting at DC Conference hall, Yanthan thanked Yikhum Baptist Church for taking the noble initiatives, in opening a Rehab Centre funded by the Church, which he said was not only beneficial for particular village, but for entire district.
He also encouraged the members to share information with other line departments for successful implementation of the government schemes to boost economy of the district as well as the state.
On the opening of new Don Bosco School at Akuk village, the chairman requested SDEO to submit verification report in the next DPDB meeting for approval.


Earlier, pastor, Yikhum village, Zanbemo Kithan, highlighted on activities of the Rehab Centre (Ekhumrhong) at Yikhum village for registration of the same, and said that the rehab centre was purely Church founding project to enable substance abusive persons for full recovery by engaging them on various activities on skill development and teaching them through Christian faith.
District Executive Officer (CBBD), S. Mhayani Shitiri, highlighted on farmer producer organization (FPO) and advantages of FPOs and informed the members that the department has established FPOs in all seven existing blocks in the district, with its main objectives to benefit the common farmers to boost the economy status of the district.


The report further informed that District Development Manager, National Bank for Agricultural & Rural Development (NABARD), Poji, highlighted on developmental activities and beneficial schemes available under NABARD for Wokha, while District Industrial Centre, District Resources Person Thungchano Jungio, highlighted on activities under Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) schemes.


Agendas such as registration of societies such as Ekhumrhong Rehab Centre at Yikhum village, opening of new Don Bosco School at Akuk village, activities of Kaviyasri Project and District industries Centre and review of aspirational villages, were discussed.
