Along with the rest of the world, “World Hypertension Day” was observed in Zunheboto and Tuensang districts under the theme, “Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer”, Friday.
Zunheboto: World Hypertension Day was observed across all health units in Zunheboto district.


A press release by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Zunheboto office informed that at the headquarters, the programme was held at Deputy Commissioner (DC) Zunheboto office with Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC-Sardar), L Chinglem Konyak as the special guest.
Addressing the gathering, he stressed the importance of timely health check-up, screening and treatment to prevent or avoid any complications.


Konyak urged the participants to take Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) strictly as they are one of the most risk factor for developing health conditions like cardio vascular diseases.
Delivering the keynote address, DPO (NCD) Zunheboto, Dr. Mhonchan Kithan, emphasised the theme stating the importance of regular blood pressure screening which was essential for early detection, and also the preventive measures to control blood pressure by engaging in physical activities for a healthy lifestyle.


During the programme, the best performing health units i.e. Community Health Centre Pughoboto, Primary Health Centre Ighanumi, District Hospital Zunheboto, community health officers, NCD clinic staff and ASHAs were felicitated with certificates of appreciation and a cash award.


The programme was chaired by DPM (NHM), CMO Office Zunheboto, Rosemary Vitoli, invocation by ZTLBC Pastor Lankonsen Tsanglao and vote of thanks by BPM, Sadar Block Zunheboto, Valerie Kiba.
The programme was attended by DPO (UIP&RCH) Dr. Heto Swu, civil societies organisation, faith-based organisation, staff under the CMO office establishment.


Tuensang: District Health Society (DHS) Tuensang Observed “World Hypertension Day” at various health units in Tuensang district. At the headquarters, the activities were carried out at Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), where 40 beneficiaries were screened for diabetes.
