The Congress has criticized the NDPP government in Nagaland following the state’s low ranking in the NITI Aayog’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) India Index 2023-2024. According to the index, Nagaland is once again among the worst-performing states in the country.
The NPCC highlighted that the SDG India Index evaluates state performances based on socio-economic and environmental criteria. The low ranking is seen as a significant concern, with the NPCC describing it as a massive vote of no confidence from the central government. They claim it validates their allegations of corruption and governance failures under the NDPP-BJP coalition.
The NPCC also pointed out the irony in the NDPP blaming national and international issues for their recent electoral defeat, despite their alliance with the BJP-led central government. They urged the NDPP to rectify its course, emphasizing that the people of Nagaland deserve better governance.
