‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign observed across the state

Commemorating the 78th Independence Day celebration, “Har Ghar Tiranga” a campaign, which encourages citizens to proudly display the national flag as a gesture of patriotism was observed across the state on August 13.


BJP Nagaland Unit: Nagaland BJP unit organized a bike rally in here on Tuesday. The rally was flagged off by national secretary and Prabhari in-charge of Nagaland, Anil K Antony, at Super Market.
Speaking to the media after the rally, Antony explained that the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign was an initiative by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, celebrated across the nation. He emphasized that throughout history since independence, the national flag was one of the heart and soul of the republic country, however, relationship with the national flag has been very formal.


Antony said that after Modi came to lead the country, he initiated the campaign with the aim to foster more personal connection with it, whilst adding that since the campaign’s inception, it has been successfully conducted throughout the country, encouraging every household to display the Tiranga.
Dwelling on the bike rally, Antony noted that similar rallies were being held throughout the state, alongside various events related to the campaign.


He said that around 170 people participated in the Dimapur rally, which commenced from Supermarket and headed towards Chümoukedima, and culminated at Thahekhu, at the residence of the state president.


He also informed that BJP karyakartas would honor soldiers, freedom fighters, and war veterans across the country, including a program in Kohima on Wednesday.
Taking a dig at the opposition, he said that major opposition, led by Rahul Gandhi of the Indian National Congress and most of the members of the INDIA bloc, were once again trying to polarize the society based on religion and divide on caste lines.


He maintained that the commemoration was to send out a message that such politics and events should never be repeated in the country.
Meanwhile, state BJP president Benjamin Yepthomi reiterated on the activities carried out under the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, informing that the party organized flag distribution programme, Swachh Bharat and bike rally.


Yepthomi also mentioned that on August 14, the party would hold tribute programme for freedom fighters in Kohima, along with a program on the partition of India and a silent march in the evening in Dimapur.


He also informed that the party would be feeding the poor and the needy persons at Dimapur Railway Station on August 15 under the “Feed the Needy” campaign.


Wokha: In Wokha, deputy chief minister, Y. Patton joined in observing the “Har GharTiranga” with the villagers. According to media cell of DCMO, Patton everyone to take part in a cleanliness drive by reinforcing their commitment to the Swachh Bharat Mission.


Patton also commended to see villagers irrespective of their ages taking part in the initiatives.
Patton said, “This grassroots movement embodies the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat,’ championed by Hon’ble PM Shri @NarendraModi Ji. His leadership continues to unite and inspire the nation”.


Further, Patton appealed everyone to keep celebrating the rich diversity by maintaining the surroundings, and strengthening the bonds that keeps together.


Medziphema: Medziphema district administration and 7th Assam Rifle, Ghaspani organised a walkathon under “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign at Medziphema sub-division.


The walkathon was flagged off by ADC, P James Swu and participated by Lt Col Anthony 7th AR Battalion Gaspani, all town councillors, volunteers, representatives from schools, offices, Dobashis and 7th Assam Rifles.


As part of “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” or “Plant for Mother” campaign, a mass social work cum plantation drive was also conducted at Medziphema sub- división in view of the upcoming Independence Day.
Around 500-1000 saplings like medicinal plants, fruit trees, and flowering trees were planted.

Kohima: District Sports Officer office of Kohima, organised the “Har Ghar Tiranga” rally from IG Stadium to High School Junction, Kohima on August 13. Around 200 students and sports enthusiasts took part in the rally.


The “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign is an initiative aimed at encouraging citizens to bring the Indian National Flag, the Tiranga, into their homes, thus fostering a personal connection with the symbol of the nation.


Assam Rifles: As part of the campaign, Assam Rifles organized a series of patriotic events across various schools in Dimapur. The events included a flag hoisting ceremony at Thilixu Government High School, painting competition at Herbert Spencer School, and a drawing competition at Zeliangrong Government Middle School.


According to Assam Rifles source, the activities were aimed at instilling a deep sense of patriotism and unity among students while honoring the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and soldiers.


The flag hoisting ceremony at Thilixu Govt High School commenced with an inspiring talk on the valor and sacrifices of those who fought for India’s freedom. The event was attended by 310 students, 27 teachers, and three Gaon Buras of Thilixu village. At Herbert Spencer School, a painting competition saw the participation of 60 students and five teachers. The drawing competition at Zeliangrong Government Middle School witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 200 students and 10 teachers.
