SSP crowned Group E National Games champions

Sainik School Punglwa (SSP), Nagaland lifted the Overall Championship Trophy by further underscoring their remarkable success across multiple disciplines at the Group E All India Sainik Schools National Games and Sports 2024 held from August 20 to 24 at Sainik School Punglwa.


The winners will now represent Group E in their respective events in the national level at Sainik School Chandrapur, Maharashtra. Sainik School Chhingchhip clinched both the Volleyball and Basketball Championship Trophies.


Sainik School East Siang and Sainik School Imphal emerged victorious in the Hockey Championship and Athletics respectively taking home the trophies. Sainik School Punglwa retained the Cultural Competition Trophy with their vibrant and diverse presentation.


Best Discipline Trophy was awarded to Sainik School Goalpara, recognizing their exemplary conduct and sportsmanship throughout the Games. Five distinguished Sainik Schools from Northeast India—Sainik School Goalpara, Sainik School Imphal, Sainik School Chhingchhip, Sainik School East Siang, and the host, Sainik School Punglwa—competed in Basketball, Volleyball, Hockey, Athletics, and a vibrant Cultural Competition.


The closing ceremony was graced by Rupin Sharma, Director General of Police, as chief guest.
Rupin Sharma, extended congratulations to all winners and participants and how sports teaches everyone to be disciplined.


He reminded the cadets that they were fortunate to be cadets of Sainik School which prepares an individual for any eventuality of life. He also gave away the medals and the trophies to the winners. The winners will now represent Group E in their respective events in the national level at Sainik School Chandrapur, Maharastra. Col Arvind Nautiyal, principal Sainik School Punglwa appreciated the efforts put in by the staff and cadets for the successful completion of the championship.
