The 8th edition of Medziphema Inter School Football tournament, a biannual tournament organized by Medziphema Town Students’ Union began at local ground Medziphema on Monday under the theme “Unity Makes Victory”.
Altogether, 10 teams are vying for the coveted trophy. The tournament is played under two categories, High School and Higher Secondary. In the first match, defending champion, Govt. Hr. Sec. School decimated the Rivenburgh School 7-0. Hengtinthang, Lhousakhoto, Letboison (3 goals), Kevineito and Suresh scored for GHSS.
In the second match, SFS High School defeated the Chakhroma Baptist Mission School with 3-0. Kikruneilie Kera (2 goals) and Paogouhao scored for SFS School. Earlier, Selemla S Sangtam, SDO Medziphema graced the opening as the special guest.
