NSF Trophy: Circle, Tribal, Michazou, Jakhama YO win

The NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy, organised by the Angami Students Union, saw four thrilling encounters on Monday at IG Stadium.


In the first match, Circle FC Chedema delivered a commanding 14-0 victory over Eagles FC. Kekhrie Tsira opened the scoring for Circle FC in the 4th minute and added two more in the 15th and 60th minutes.


VS Thatkadhar Zimik made a remarkable contribution, scoring five goals in the 7th, 9th, 30th, 49th, and 63rd minutes.
Vijay Kumar, Tongminsei, Joseph, and Henry also found the back of the net, with Henry scoring in the 55th and 69th minutes.


Henry was named Player of the Match, receiving the award from KK Angami, a well-wisher of the Angami Students Union.
The second match saw Tribal Stallions FC defeating BKK Jakhama 4-1. Myjoy scored the opener in the 11th minute, with Kekrusezo adding two goals in the 20th and injury time (70+1).


Naseeb scored the third goal for the Stallions in the 50th minute. BKK Jakhama’s lone goal came from Vitsoto Natso in the 53rd minute.
Myjoy of Tribal Stallions FC was awarded Man of the Match, which was presented by Thejalhoukho Thomas Khawakhrie, vice president of ASU.


In the third match, Michazou FC edged out Nousi Rüzhü Colleges in a dramatic penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw at the end of regulated time.
Nousi Rüzhü took the lead through Kedovituo Miasalhou in the 41st minute, but Michazou equalized in the 60th minute through Kelechülie Tepa.


Michazou eventually triumphed 4-3 in the shootout. Michazou FC’s goalkeeper, Menuokho Ngukha, was named Player of the Match and received the award from Azha Mezhü, asst GS, ASU.


The final match of the day saw Jakhama Y.O. securing a 4-0 victory over Elevated FC. Goals came early for Jakhama, with Keduhoto Zao scoring in the 2nd minute.
Vikuto Tase added another in the 24th minute, while Kulse Zhotso sealed the win with two goals in the 45th and 50th minutes.


Alemse of Jakhama Y.O. was named Player of the Match, with the award handed over by Zekuseto, former convenor of the NSF Trophy.
