Gram Sabhas was conducted in all 23 frontier villages under the Khongsa Aspirational Block, Kiphire district on October 2, 2024 which was a stepping stone to equip village councils and GPPFTs for the upcoming agenda based GPDP and way forward.
Led by the village council chairmen and VDB secretaries, the major sessions and topics of the day include presentation and briefing on various schemes by village level departments, committees and organisations, identification of gaps and prioritization, understanding local sustainable development goals (LSDGs), experience sharing by elderly people who are above 75 years of age, Gram Panchayat Plan and Facilitation team (GPPFT) and understanding of Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) besides oath taking of preamble and National Anthem.
Gram Sabha was held to undertake visioning exercise and prioritization of needs ensuring objectivity in planning and endow people with a sense of ownership of the planning process and help identify priorities in the identified key thematic areas and set clear milestones to be achieved by the GP during the plan period and identify the prioritized needs and crucial issues to fill up the gaps in local development
President VDB & VCC Union Khongsa Block, Tsantsuthong, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Piramal Foundation (Aspirational Bharat Collaborative) for facilitating and guidance towards the success of the event covering all villages under Khongsa Aspirational Block.
He also expressed acknowledgement to all the staffs under BDO Khongsa block and Project Director DRDA Kiphire for the support and all the villages under Khongsa Aspirational Block for the success of the event.
