The Don Bosco Schools Nagaland meet 2024, an inter-school event, which commenced with enthusiasm and vibrant energy on October 24 at DBHSS, Dimapur under the theme “Students for change,” concluded on October 26.


The three-day event aimed at fostering camaraderie and celebrate the rich traditions and talents of the participating schools.


The final day of the tournament witnessed thrilling matches that culminated in the final football and volleyball games that determined the champions. The volleyball girls’ champions title was bagged by Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School Wokha while the football boys title was won by Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School Mon.


On the second day, students competed fiercely in knockout rounds of football and volleyball, fostering both teamwork and competitive spirit. The quiz competition tested students’ knowledge and quick-thinking abilities. The day concluded with spell bee competition, followed by a solo and poem recitation competition.


The inaugural ceremony was graced by dignitaries, including principal of DBHSS Wokha, Fr. T C Joseph, who led the opening prayer, and president of Don Bosco Schools Nagaland, Fr. TP James, delivered the welcome note. The cultural segment of the programme featured spirited dance performances by students, adding a traditional touch to the evening’s proceedings.

President of Don Bosco Alumni Dimapur, Imtikumzuk Imsong, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of values and community, while director of DBYES, Fr. Theotimus Lakra, shared words of encouragement as the special guest.


The highlight of the inaugural night was the cultural dance competition, featuring vibrant performances from seven schools, including DBHSS Kohima, DBHSS Zubza, Christ King Kohima, DBHSS Dimapur, and others. Each group showcased unique cultural traditions, reflecting the diverse heritage of Nagaland. Following the dance competition, the event culminated after the campus rules briefing and night prayers led by vice principal of DBHSS Dimapur, Fr. Jaojian Daniel Gangmei.


The event successfully fostered a spirit of unity among the Don Bosco Schools of Nagaland, embodying the values of teamwork, respect, and cultural pride.

As the students and faculty departed, they carried with them memories of camaraderie and pride in their shared heritage, looking forward to the next gathering of the Don Bosco family. The closing ceremony celebrated the students’ efforts and achievements, with an award distribution led by the school administration.
