SEEKS PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR TIMELY COMPLETION OF PROJECTS
On the third day of his four-day tour to five districts to inspect National Highways (NH) projects, the state deputy chief minister, TR Zeliang, on Wednesday held a series of high-level consultative meeting with tribal bodies, student leaders, village councils, GBs, land owners and district administrations at Kiphire, Shamator, Tuensang.
In a press release, deputy CM’s media cell informed that Zeliang inspected NH construction works especially the new NH-202, which would pass through Mokokchung, Tuensang, Shamator and Kiphire.
Speaking at the meeting, Zeliang called upon the public to cooperate with the government and contractors for timely completion of the projects. He said that good road was essential for all round development and maintained that the state government was giving all efforts to connect every nook and corner of the state with good roads.
Zeliang, who is also minister in-charge of NH, said that once the NH-202 was completed, the face of Eastern Naga area would “completely transform”, adding that all-round development would take place. He, therefore, urged the public to support and the project complete in time.
Zeliang also expressed appreciation to all tribal bodies, student leaders, village councils, GBs and land owners for their assurance to cooperate and give support as and when construction of NH-202 commence during the meetings. The construction of the newly proposed NH-202, which would connect five districts with rest of the country, is expected to commence soon.
Zeliang also met contractors and NHDCL officials at Mokokchung and Tuli and urged them to expedite the works and complete it in time. He asked the contractors to keep the road in condition by maintaining regularly.
