Stakeholders meet on child welfare in Mon

Mon district administration, in collaboration with the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), organized a one-day consultative meeting with key stakeholders focusing on the welfare, care, and protection of children on November 20, at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, marking the celebration of Child Rights Week.

Key highlights included a presentation on the Mission Vatsalya programme by Wanloi, LCPO, DCPU, Mon. The presentation outlined the mission’s objectives, core pillars, and its impact on child welfare.

Ngepkhao S., coordinator of Child Helpline, Mon, provided an in-depth overview of the structure and operations of the helpline.
P. Hamkai Konyak, Director of John 3:16, discussed the significance, roles, and legal procedures involved in adoption.

The program included an interactive session, allowing stakeholders to seek clarifications and engage in discussions to enhance their understanding of the topics covered.

The event witnessed active participation from representatives of various departments and organizations, including Police department, Medical dwepartment, District Legal Services Authority, Judiciary, Child Helpline, District Welfare Office, Child Welfare Committee, Sakhi One Stop Centre, Child Care Institutions, and ward chairpersons. The meeting was chaired by M. Alem Konyak, PO(IC) DCPU, Mon, Sevehu Chuzho, DCPO, Mon, welcomed the gatherings, while Samuel Konyak, SDO of Phomching, presented the keynote speech on behalf of the District Administration.
