
The Hornbill traditional shot put competition organized by the department of Youth Resource and Sports was held at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama on December 2.
According to DIPR, a total of 18 competitors from various tribes across Nagaland participated in a highly anticipated event.
Kelhoudelie of the Angami tribe emerged as the winner, achieving an impressive throw of 15.8 feet while Likho Sangma from Garo tribe and Kevisar from Chang tribe secured second and third place respectively.
The traditional games are held daily at Hornbill Festival in order to showcase and promote the culture and tradition of the Nagas and also to encourage a spirit of competitiveness among the different tribes of Nagaland.
