Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Phek, Weziho block conducted demonstration and interaction programme on “Neem Oil and Mushroom Cultivation”, at Old Thewati village on December 12.
The resource persons for demonstration programme included BTM Vepoto Riga, and BTM (Meluri) Hitoka. Interaction session with farmers was carried out by DPD (Phek) Vinoka, accompanied by accountant, Imliwapang, and ATM, Nuzo who.
A total number of 31 farmers along with ATMA officials attended the programme. After the raining programme, mushroom spawns, vegetable seeds and farming tools were distributed to the farmers.
ATMA Tsaru Block: Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Tsaru Block, Tuensang conducted demonstration programme at Tsaru New Town with BTM, Dr. T Arenmongla as resource person on December 7.
At the training programme, the resource person gave hands on demonstration on preparation of Yellow Sticky Trap and Seed treatment with Trichoderma viride and explained its uses and application in soil.
Altogether, nine farmers along with their friend attended the programme. Different vegetables seeds and Trichoderma viride were also distributed to the farmers after the programme.
ATMA Phek, Kikruma Block: ATMA Phek, Kikruma Block conducted a demonstration programme related to agri. and allied activities on December 5 at Kikruma village. The block functionaries served as resource persons and covered topics on nursery bed preparation for winter crops and intercultural operations for weed control, keeping in mind the importance of women farmers’ roles in agricultural practices.
Seeds and handheld weeders were distributed to all the members of the SHGs who were present.
ATMA, Chunlikha block: ATMA Chunlikha block under Tseminyu conducted training at Sishunu village on December 10 on the topic “Demonstration on organic insect-pest management”.
The resource person ATM Chenobu Seb, ATM Kebegi Kent and ATM Sinlo Khing informed the farmers on the use of neem oil, Bacillus thuringiensis, pheromone trap and yellow and blue sticky trap, to control insect-pest and disease management.
The proper concentration and the timing of use of the said organic agent was taught to the participants. The participants was also trained on how to setup the pheromone trap and the yellow and blue sticky trap in the field.
Altogether 6 farmers participated in the demonstration program. Organic product like neem oil, Bacillus thuringiensis, pheromone trap, yellow and blue sticky trap was distributed to the participants.
At Kandinu village on December 8, the training was held on the topic “Demonstration on organic soil nutrient management”. The resource person ATM Chenobu Seb, ATM Kebegi Kent and ATM Sinlo Khing apprised the farmers on the use organic method to rejuvenate the soil health by using bio-fertilisers, bio-agent and waste decomposer and use of compost.
The farmers were also trained on the process of preparing waste decomposer using the bacteria culture which is readily available in the agri store. The farmers were also taught about the use of the prepared decomposer solution in making compost, organic fertilizer, organic insect-pest and disease management.
Altogether, six farmers participated in the demonstration programme. Bio-agent like azotobacter, phosphotica etc., organic fertiliser and waste decomposer culture was distributed to the participants.
ATMA Aboi Block: ATMA Mon, Aboi Block conducted demonstration programme on topic “Package of practices of Cole crops” at Aopao village on November 27.
At the programme, farmers were given a hands on demostration on nursery bed preparation and management, and trained on the right time for transplanting, irrigating the field at regular interval, weed control and earthing up.
ATMA Chizami block: ATMA Phek, Chizami block organised a demonstration programme cum citrus farm school visit on December 2 at Chizami village.
A press release from ATMA Chizami block informed that during the program, Zevosenuo Rutsa, BTM, highlighted on the awareness and the importance of good agricultural practices for higher yields and sustainable agriculture and livelihood security. Atso Koza, ATM, conducted hands-on demonstrations on raised nursery beds for cole crops and pruning of citrus trees. Seeds and pruning tools were distributed to participants after the program.
ATMA Angjangyang Block: ATMA Mon, Angjangyang block conducted demonstration programme on cultivation practices of Cole crops on November 29 at Changlang village. Resources person BTM Nemchaba Jamir demonstrated the proper Technology of cultivating cole crops such as cabbage and cauliflower to the participants. He also emphasised on manuring, weed control, irrigation and post- harvest handling.
Altogether 15 participants from two FSGs attended the programme. Seeds were also distributed to the participants.
ATMA Mon block: ATMA Mon block conducted demonstration programme on “package of practices of Cole crops” at Chi Guhching village on November 29. Resource person Shampa ATM highlighted on the preparation of nursery bed and management of the crop including the importance of proper irrigation to avoid water stress. Seeds were distributed to the participants.
ATMA Phomching Block: ATMA Phomching block under Mon conducted demonstration programme on November 26 at Yuching village. Resource person BTM Nunghothung Odyuo conducted demonstration on the topic “Package of Practices of Garden pea”. He demonstrated the proper way to sow the seeds and also explained the kind of soil to be selected, sowing time, amount of seeds to be sowed per acre and the application of fertilizers. He also talked about the intercultural operations such as weed control and trailing and stalking. Seeds of various seasonal vegetables were also distributed to the participants.
