Maromi Village Baptist Church (MVBC) is commemorating its 100 years of Christianity here in Maromi Village, Zunheboto district with, “envisioning God’s faithfulness” as the theme.
The speaker of the evening, Director, Sumi Baptist Convention, Rev. Dr. Khehovi Shohe said, “Jubilee is not being extravagant or enjoying feast rather it is all about forgiveness and embracing God tighter”.
He further challenged the gathering saying, “Jubilee celebration can be witnessed in you through your exemplary living”.
Yeiko Aye, the great grandson of the first Christian amongst the Maromi Village lit the jubilee candles, while Akukau/GB Tokiho Zhimo extended the welcome address.
Jubilee greetings was delivered by Assistant Fishery Inspector, Zunheboto Jekugha Jimo.
Presentation and introduction by Kikhezhe Sumi; Bible reading by Vino A Awomi; special number by Maromi Union Zunheboto; and jubilee song by Jubilee choir were the other highlights of the evening.
The evening program concluded with Youth Leader MVBC Mughakali P Aye who said the benediction. Jubilee souvenir was released by retired pastor Rev. Zhutovi Yeptho.
Earlier, the unveiling of centenary gate and pandal/convergence hall by MVBC pastor Rev. Yetoho Achumi marked the prelude to the two daylong event.
