ABCC to hold Quinquennial conference from January 18

Angami Baptist Church Council (ABCC) will be holding the Quinquennial conference on January 18-19, 2025 at Local Ground, Kohima.
The announcement was made by convenor Rev. Dr. Kevichalie Metha at a press conference on January 15 at the ABCC conference hall in Mission Compound, Kohima.
Metha said that the conference occurs every five years, with the theme for this year being “Arise, shine,” inspired by Isaiah 60:1. He emphasized that there are 111 churches under ABCC, comprising over 45,000 members.
On the first day of the conference, there will be a flag hoisting ceremony at 9 am at the ABCC mission center, followed by the main program at local ground at 10 am.
The first day of the conference will be dedicated to the leaders of the 111 churches, featuring an exclusive Focus Group program for all church departments at five locations: Ao Baptist Church Kohima, Local Ground, Rengma Baptist Church Kohima, Sümi Baptist Church Kohima, and Union Baptist Church Kohima.
In this connection, the convenor expressed gratitude to those churches for their support and hospitality.
On the second day, the program will be open to all ABCC members and over 8,000 attendees were expected.
Rev. Dr. Rachülie Vihienuo shared that this year’s theme was chosen to promote the renewal of the churches. He emphasized that the focus will be on the quality of outcomes.
The topic for this year’s conference will be “The Church of Christ: Prepare for Renewal, Renewed to Endure, Renewed to Impact, Arise, Shine.” Key speakers include Rev. Dr. Ashok Andrews from Kolkata Bible Church and Rev. Dr. Rachülie Vihienuo.
Meanwhile, invitations have been extended to chief ministers and other leaders of the Angami community to participate in a special prayer session for them.
Azonuo Ciezotsu emphasized the significance of the Focus Group, mentioning that it will be immensely helpful and important for the leaders of all churches.
