MoS Kirti Singh visits Chida Lake

Union Minister of State (MoS) for Environment, Forests and Climate Change and External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, who was on a three-day visit from February 19-22, visited Chida Lake, a natural tourist site located at Khezakeno village, under Phek district.


According to a DIPR report, the minister met the village leaders and stressed the need for preservation and conservation of biodiversity. He also visited Kapamodzu Peak, a tourist hotspot at Zhavame village under Phek district, and interacted with village council members and Joint Forest Management Committee (JFMC) members.


The union minister appreciated the village authority for maintaining and preserving the rich biodiversity of Kapamodzu Peak and all the forest conservation in the State. MoS was accompanied by a team comprised of district administration, police, officers and staff of forest department Phek division.
